In March 2020, Sugata and Sawano started serializing the romance fantasy manga in Comic PASH! Magazine. The fifth volume of Shufu to Seikatsusha was released in November 2023.

Sawano’s novel series, which debuted on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in August 2018, served as the inspiration for Kisaki Kyouiku kara Nigetai Watashi. Shufu purchased the book from Seikatsusha, which in April 2019 released the first volume under its PASH! Books banner with artwork by Miru Yumesaki. March 2020 saw the release of the second and last volume.

The manga and light novel were licensed by J-Novel Club for English-language digital distribution. In November 2023, the second and last volume of the light novel was published. On July 17, the third manga volume became available for purchase.
